Who are we?

Good day! We are so glad you chose to visit today. We hope that what you discover will be uplifting and encouraging because that is what a church does, in our opinion. Our goal is to glorify Jesus Christ daily. We study the Bible together and reach out to our community with random acts of kindness. We witness to others our love for God and neighbor. 

Pennington Chapel is a community of faith located outside of Royston, GA, near Commerce, and only a 45 minute drive from Athens, GA. We are made up of Christians, some of whom have been on the journey for many years to honor God with their lives. Others have just begun. What we believe:

• There are many flavors of Christians, just like there are many flavors of ice cream, but we all worship the same triune God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
  
• We all admit that we all have sinned and occasionally still sin, but we know that God forgives our sins when we ask him to and are determined, with his help, to change the way we live.
  
• We believe the Bible is the Word of God, inspired by God, and that it is useful for teaching, for rebuke, for correction and for training in righteousness to equip us to honor God with our lives.
  
• None of us has escaped hurt. We all have been broken in one way or another. We acknowledge our brokenness. This gives us confidence that, through belief in Jesus Christ, we can be healed and made whole to glorify God and introduce other broken people to an exciting, life-changing relationship with the one, true God.
  
• God has called Pennington Chapel to be his sanctuary, a place of healing and refuge to become whole again. It is here for everyone. Invite your friends to come, find comfort and warmth. Discover the sanctuary you have been searching for all of your life!
